This piece captures the feeling I had during that first week off. It was a sense of peace, but also hollowness and loneliness. The atmosphere of the town, of my living space, and of my mind during that time are all contained within this music, using sparse textural writing, as well as ambiguous harmony, and contrasting timbres.
The spaciousness of this piece is the most important part of its effect. Let each rest be an opportunity to sit back...
